R&D Lab Technician (Homecare)

1. Laboratory Tasks

• Ensure safety and hygiene standards in the lab.
• Execute tasks for innovation, cost-saving, and branding projects:
  • Verify compliance of new raw and packaging materials with technical specifications.
  • Prepare new formulations and evaluate stability under various conditions.
  • Design packaging (laminate pouches, labels, bottles, outer cases, pallet patterns).
  • Prepare PMR, work instructions, mock-up samples, and lab reports.
• Support export projects under the supervision of the line manager.

2. Consumer Test Sample Preparation

• Handle paperwork for new raw and packaging materials (PO issuance, shipment arrangements).
• Prepare consumer test samples (mixing and filling) at the pilot plant.

3. Main Plant Trial (MPT)

• Coordinate with planning, supply chain, and engineering teams for RPM readiness and trial slots.
• Participate in supplier site trials for new packaging designs and assess results.
• Ensure raw and packaging materials meet technical specifications before MPT.
• Supervise end-to-end process during MPT and facilitate stability, transit, and stacking tests.

4. Technical Information Management

• Attend project meetings to ensure the timely completion of R&D tasks.
• Manage data on R&D digital systems (PLM, AWS, BLUE):
  • Maintain technical specifications for raw and packaging materials.
  • Create specifications, templates for code creation, and BOM.
  • Support sample shipments to other Unilever sites.

5. Supply Chain & Marketing Support

• Oversee long-run trials and first mass production.
• Monitor the quality and stability of new products post-production and compile reports.
• Assist the supply chain with continuous improvement initiatives.
• Support marketing during product launches (product demos, sample preparation).

• Bachelor’s degree in Organic Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related technical field.
• 0–1 year of relevant experience, fresh graduates are welcome.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills, with good time management and problem-solving abilities.
• Demonstrated critical thinking and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Intermediate level of English proficiency.
