Packaging Development Manager (Beverages)

Job Summary

As a Packaging Development Manager, you will lead the development and optimization of innovative packaging solutions that align with Masan Consumer’s brand strategy, sustainability goals, and operational efficiency. You’ll collaborate cross-functionally with Marketing, Manufacturing, Procurement, and external suppliers to ensure packaging excellence across all product categories.

Key Responsibilities

Packaging Innovation & Development

• Lead the design and development of new packaging concepts for food and beverage products.
• Ensure packaging meets functional, aesthetic, regulatory, and sustainability requirements.
• Evaluate and select materials, formats, and technologies that enhance product appeal and shelf life.

Project Management

• Manage packaging development timelines and budgets across multiple projects.
• Coordinate with internal teams and external vendors to ensure timely delivery of packaging solutions.
• Conduct risk assessments and troubleshoot packaging-related issues during development and launch.

Quality & Compliance

• Ensure packaging complies with local and international regulations.
• Collaborate with QA/QC teams to validate packaging performance through testing and trials.
• Maintain documentation and specifications for all packaging formats.

Supplier & Stakeholder Collaboration

• Build strong relationships with packaging suppliers and converters.
• Negotiate with vendors to optimize cost, quality, and lead time.
• Work closely with Marketing, R&D, and Operations to align packaging with brand and production needs.

Sustainability & Continuous Improvement

• Drive initiatives to reduce environmental impact of packaging.
• Stay updated on industry trends and emerging technologies.
• Recommend improvements to existing packaging for cost savings and performance enhancement.

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Packaging Engineering, Materials Science, Industrial Design, or related field.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in packaging development, preferably in FMCG or food & beverage industry.
• Strong knowledge of packaging materials (plastics, paper, glass, metal) and manufacturing processes.
• Experience with packaging testing standards and regulatory compliance.
• Proficient in project management and cross-functional collaboration.
• Fluent in English and Vietnamese.
