Automotive - NVH Test Engineer (SSTS)

Test Planning & Setup

• Review NVH test requests and prepare detailed test plans (scope, equipment, schedule).
• Define test setups for BIW, Chassis, Drivetrain, HVAC, etc. according to SSTS test matrix.
• Prepare test fixtures, safety devices, and instrumentation (microphones, accelerometers, impact hammers, shakers, data acquisition).
• Coordinate with Facility team to ensure availability of Quiet Room, Semi-anechoic chamber, Shaker bench, and Road simulator.

Test Execution

• Conduct tests for:

• Sound pressure level (SPL)
• Structure-borne & airborne transfer functions (NTF, VTF, Point mobility)
• Modal & operational vibration measurements (ODS, FRF)
• Cabin noise, road noise, powertrain noise

• Operate and calibrate NVH test equipment (Brüel & Kjær, LMS Test.Lab, HEAD acoustics, etc.).
• Ensure safety during testing (air pillow, lift system, BIW rig stability, PPE compliance).

Data Processing & Analysis

• Post-process test data using LMS Test.Lab, BK Connect, or equivalent tools.
• Evaluate results against NVH targets (SSTS, VTS, or Benchmark vehicles).
• Identify noise sources and propose engineering countermeasures (Root Cause Analysis).
• Prepare and present NVH test reports with bilingual summary (VN–EN).

Documentation & Improvement

• Maintain NVH test procedures and standard templates.
• Support development of test facility (Quiet Room, transmission path rigs).
• Participate in continuous improvement of SSTS test methodology.
• Coordinate with Design, CAE, and Attribute teams for correlation validation.

• Bachelor’s or Master’s in Mechanical, Automotive, or Mechatronics Engineering.
• 2–5 years of experience in NVH, vehicle testing, or acoustic measurement
• NVH data acquisition (B&K, LMS, HEAD)
• Signal analysis (FFT, FRF, TPA, Modal analysis)
• Understanding of ISO 3745, ISO 10844, ISO 5128
• Familiar with CANoe, CANalyzer, or similar diagnostic tools

Preferred Skills:

• Experience with vehicle subsystem NVH correlation (CAE vs Test)
• Knowledge of ISO 17025 lab practice
• Experience in electrified vehicles (BEV, REEV, Hybrid) NVH testing
• Familiar with Quiet Room design & maintenance
• Knowledge of ISO 3745, ISO 26101-1, ASTM E90 test standards.
