Job Summary:
The Lean Process Improvement Specialist is responsible for driving the implementation of Lean methodologies across operations to enhance efficiency, eliminate waste, and foster a culture of continuous improvement. This role requires a strong background in Lean Manufacturing, excellent analytical skills, and the ability to influence cross-functional teams.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Lean Implementation:
• Develop, execute, and monitor Lean strategies aligned with organizational goals.
• Identify and lead priority Lean projects to improve workflows and processes.
• Apply tools such as 5S, Value Stream Mapping (VSM), Kaizen, Kanban, Standard Work, and Root Cause Analysis.
2. Leadership and Training:
• Act as the owner of Lean initiatives and ensure accountability for outcomes.
• Mentor and train employees across departments on Lean principles and tools.
• Promote a culture of Lean thinking and continuous improvement.
3. Process Analysis and Optimization:
• Conduct detailed analysis to identify process inefficiencies and bottlenecks.
• Develop improvement plans to enhance productivity and reduce waste and cycle time.
• Monitor and report on KPIs to assess success and guide decisions.
4. Change Management:
• Lead change initiatives tied to Lean adoption and implementation.
• Address resistance through effective communication, training, and stakeholder engagement.
5. Continuous Improvement Culture:
• Facilitate workshops and improvement events to embed Lean thinking.
• Document and disseminate best practices throughout the organization.
6. Reporting and Communication:
• Prepare and present regular updates on Lean project status and results to senior leadership.
• Maintain accurate records of Lean activities and metrics.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Lean Manager.
7. Complete other tasks assigned by superiors.
Requirements
Minimum Academic Requirement: Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Production Management, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
Professional Requirement:
• Minimum 3 years in Lean Manufacturing, preferably in the furniture industry.
• Proven experience leading Lean projects and initiatives.
Experience Requirement:
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in lean manufacturing or a similar role in the furniture industry.
- Certified Lean Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt is a plus
- Proven experience in Lean Manufacturing or a similar role, with ownership of Lean initiatives.
- Strong knowledge of Lean principles, tools, and methodologies.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and project management skills.
- Exceptional leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
Knowledge, Skill Requirement:
- In-depth knowledge of Lean tools and methodologies.
- Strong problem-solving, analytical, and project management capabilities.
- Excellent leadership, facilitation, and communication skills.
- Proficient in ERP systems and Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
